LiquiVac Oil Changing System - For Small Engines, 3/4 Gallon, Model# 2005
Average Reviews:

I used this to change the differential fluid in my Dodge Truck - worked outstanding! I use to take off the diff housing and then have to reseal it etc and it took a couple of hours - this little device took me about an hour from start to clean-up. I don't think I would use it to change engine oil just because there is to much contamination in the bottom of the pan that needs to be drained. Great little pump easy to handle, store and I like the measure gauge on the end so you can see how much fluid you pulled out. Hey, it's made in the USA too - that's a bonus!!

Klann Tools (KLA0181-1) Universal 3/8in. Drive Stud Extractor Review

Klann Tools (KLA0181-1) Universal 3/8in. Drive Stud Extractor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Removed catalytic converter exhaust flange studs with ease with this tool, PB Blaser and a breaker bar. The star points grab onto the stud and tighten as you loosen. Will damage the stud threads slightly and will need to be replaced with new studs though. Tool can also be driven with an air ratchet which I didn't have to test out that feature. You will need to about 3 inches diameter of room around the bolt though. Unit has some weight to it and has a small hole where you can put oil into it I guess since it did not come with care instructions which is why I took a star off and for the expensive price. It cost twice as much as similiar tools. Tool stamped with Germany on the side and the Germans have a rep for quality products. You get what you pay for, right?

Fein 9-20-25 Turbo-II 9-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum with Auto-Start Review

Fein 9-20-25 Turbo-II 9-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum with Auto-Start
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The new version of the Fein Turbo II has some improvements that answer criticisms of the previous model, and it's more expensive. Fein added two additional casters, metal clips to hold the top to the base, the ability to change suction power by changing motor speed, and a drain plug to make it easy to get liquid out. It still comes without any accessories except for a nice long 16' 1-1/4" hose and a rubber adapter to mate the hose with to a Fein power tool dust outlet. Fein wants far too much money for its accessory tool set, IMHO. But a 2-1/4" Sears or Shop Vac hose will fit the inlet, and/or you can buy 3rd party attachments for the 1-1/4" hose that comes with the vacuum. If you're going to attach it to a sander or other power tool for dust extraction, it's a good idea to buy the stepped hose adapter Fein sells. It's available at Amazon for a reasonable price.
Why would anyone pay Fein this much for a shop vacuum? Two reasons: quiet operation and the onboard power outlet that turns on the vacuum when you turn on a power tool plugged into the outlet.
Quieter operation may not seem important until you hear the difference. As another reviewer says, a big old Sears shop vacuum sounds like the deck of an aircraft carrier during takeoff operations. You need hearing protection if you're going to run it for more than a minute or two. The Fein sounds like quiet household vacuum, but it has enough suction and capacity for a workshop. The advantage of the auxiliary power outlet is obvious if you use a vacuum to extract dust when you're using a sander or a miter saw. The vacuum turns on just when you need it and shuts off on its own when you turn off the power tool.
The Fein comes with a cloth filter that will capture particles down to 5 microns, which is probably marginally OK for dust generated by a miter saw, but not for handling fine dust from orbital sanding or if you vacuum up after sanding wallboard seams. Fein will sell you a cartridge filter for 1 micron particles or a HEPA cartridge filter that gets down to 0.3 microns. You can buy a Gore Clearstream HEPA filter - the "Ridgid-Sears Red" version -- at Amazon or at a home center for less than a third what Fein charges for theirs. Gore does not list the Fein as one of the vacuums its filters will fit. But it does. Just buy a 2-1/2" x 3/8 fully threaded carriage bolt, a 3/8" wing nut and a 3/8" nylon washer and screw the filter down snugly. You don't need a bag if you use a cartridge filter unless ou're vacuuming hazardous materials.
Barely five stars considering that Fein ought to include vacuum tools in the box, but this thing really delivers on "quiet," on power and on convenience.

The Fein vacuums / dust extractors are designed for heavy, continuous, industrial use, wet or dry. The improved, rugged anti-tipping design features a powerful 120volt two-stage motor that offers bypass cooling, ensuring a long motor life. Vacuum performance measuring at 90 to 99 inches of water lift means Fein dust extractors produce far greater suction than the competition, at an average of 60 decibels. All three models come with electronic variable suction control with LED indicator allowing for maximum performance, auto-start function, and integrated drain plug. Accessory filters are available that capture particles down to .3 micron (HePa). The Fein dust extractors when combined with Feins random orbit sanders are an integral part of Feins 98 dust-free sanding system. Plug your random orbit sanding system into a Fein dust extractor. The tools switch turns the dust extractor on and off and provides a ten second delay after shut off to clear the hose. Maximum performance can be achieved by adjusting the electronic variable suction control. Fein dust extractors handle power tools with inputs of 5 to 2000 watts (.05 to 18 amps).

Schley (SCH65100) Honda / Acura Bushing X-Tractor? Review

Schley (SCH65100) Honda / Acura Bushing X-Tractor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This tool made it possible for me to change the RTA bushings on my '93 Civic without removing the trailing arms from the car, however the instructions were not much help. They mentioned an eight inch spacer but did not show or explain where it should go. I found it easy enough to remove the old bushing but not until I removed the upper control arm mounting and ground a taper on the inner edge of the bushing did I succeed in proper installation. The second side took an hour and a half. I'm not telling how long the first one took. I do not have a lift. This was done working with jack and stands in the driveway. I figure I saved at least $250 by doing the job myself as compared to having a garage do it, and my wife's car will need bushings soon, so the tool was well worth the price.
This review is for the tool. The service from the seller (who does not regularly sell this item) was first rate.Schley (SCH65100) Honda / Acura Bushing X-Tractor?

I don't own this extractor but I do own another product from Mytee(the M-12). I have to say thier is less then average. Cross your fingers nothing goes wrong with your product because their service is crappy. They will not give you a new one if the product is defective out of the box. They have so many excuses why (like they don't have anymore in stock). B.S.!!!! Mine broke twice already within 30 days and I have to drive the damn unit 2 hours away to have it ship back mytee to be repaired. They try to blame me for not know how to use the extractor. That made me even more mad. Wait a week and lose many jobs and money. Mytee, get your act together!!!! By the way, my M-12 cost me almost 3k :(

3-in-1 Hand Pump Siphon Gas Oil Liquid Air Review

3-in-1 Hand Pump Siphon Gas Oil Liquid Air
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased exactly the same one as the one shown here for transmission oil change, but decided to use it for motor oil change beforehand. Good thing I did, since it was extremely inefficient in pumping oil. Instruction says pump it 3~4x and let the gravity do the work but it doesn't trickle out for a second then nothing would come out (I kept the drain portion lower than the intake as instruction says). It appears the fittings and pump itself have air leaks since the fittings cannot be securely fastened/tightened to form air tight seal. I even used tapes to create better air seal, and still it took about 1.5hr of pumping to get 3 quart out... Good really vigorous shoulder exercise meanwhile~. Overall, I guess you get what you pay for.
I guess it might be ok for a small amount of liquid, but for anything more than a quart or so, this may not be a practical tool. Just wanting to let others know so that they know what this can be useful for.

OTC 6980 Heavy Duty Brake Drum and Rotor Puller Review

OTC 6980 Heavy Duty Brake Drum and Rotor Puller
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After years of struggling to pull rusted drums off my cars, I found this tool. It's very heavy duty and can handle any size vehice. I used it to pull the rusted drums off my 2006 Toyota Sienna van (3 ton vehicle). It didn't warp the drums. This tool was also pretty safe because it comes with a decent strap/tightening lever. And the good directions recommend that you leave two lug nuts on so the drum doesn't pop off in your face. I forgot to do this the first time but the drum really didn't pop too far. I'd recommend this tool not only because it does what it says it will, but also because it is so freakin' cool when the drum pops loose! I called my wife out to watch the second drum pop. It scared her pretty good...hee..he. Well worth the money... :)

Westward 1DXN2 Pneumatic Oil Extractor

Liked the convenience of this product. The suction tubes get kinked very easy and begin leaking or prevent fluids from flowing through effectively. The overflow shut-off valve built in is worthless, since you have to monitor the fluid level as it rises to the top otherwise fluid escapes through the breather device and what a mess that becomes.

Blitz 11849 Dispos-Oil Review

Blitz 11849 Dispos-Oil
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This was exactly what I was looking for (a very wide-mouthed jug that can hold more than one oil change), and surprisingly, I've never seen another product like it.
I've always stayed away from using the bulky oil pan/container combos, because they look like they would make a mess, and are usually very low quality. Using one of these with a traditional open-faced oil pan is perfect, and creates very little mess. The mouth of the jug is even wide enough so that you don't need to use a funnel when transferring oil from the pan to the jug (so long as you're somewhat careful). If you've been using old milk jugs or something similar, then you know how much of a mess this can create due to spills, over-fills, and drippy funnels as you switch jugs. The extra wide mouth, and 12 quart capacity eliminates all of these problems.
I got this at a local autoparts store for about half of the current listed price on Amazon, and even then felt that I was over paying (but like I said, I've never seen another product like it, so I had no choice but to pay what they were asking). As other reviewers have mentioned, the plastic is very thin, and the cap does not go on very securely. I filled it with water when I got home in order to test it (better to have to clean up a water mess than an oil mess), and found that there were no leaks at all around the thin plastic's mold seam, but when I turned it upside down, as predicted, the area around the cap leaked heavily.
This shouldn't be a problem so long as you don't over fill it, but it would be nice if it were better quality. Just pick up any American-made gas container, and you will immediately see and feel the difference. These jugs are made with blown plastic, and probably cost less than $0.50 each to produce and ship, so it really is a shame that the price is so high.
Like I said, these jugs are very convenient, but due to the poor quality, and the fact that they will obviously get knocked around while doing what they were intended to do, I don't expect it to last longer than a year or two. Oh well..

Rothco Premium Snake Bite Kit Review

Rothco Premium Snake Bite Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a biologist who has worked extensively with rattlesnakes (though I currently study scorpions), I can tell you that this product is worse than useless. The suction is too weak, and doctors specializing in wilderness medicine (Forgey, Auerbach, and others) recommend not using a restriction bandage or scalpel (both included in this kit), as they will do more harm than good in the case of a rattlesnake bite. The ONLY product they recommend is the Sawyer Extractor. Look it up. While it's a few bucks more than this product, it has much more powerful suction (an actually useful amount), and has been clinically shown to mitigate some of the effects of a venomous snakebite. It's available on Amazon, but often available cheaper locally at your giant wallyworld or other local supercenter, in the camping section.

Mityvac 7300 PneumatiVac Air-Operated Fluid Evacuator Review

Mityvac 7300 PneumatiVac Air-Operated Fluid Evacuator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this Mityvac 7300 because I usually get sick when I crawl under my cars to change the oil. Since my 2007 Huyndai Santa Fe has the oil filter on top of the engine I figured I was all set. I have a Nissan Frontier as well and that filter is accessible only from below unfortunately. Perhaps limited time under one vehicle only will let me escape without getting sick, I hoped.

The Mityvac's directions are not clear. The parts described in the verbiage are not pictured nor are they intuitive. You do not know what they are. For instance the instructions say to shut off a valve to build a vaccum in the unit, disconnect the air compressor and use the Mityvac in some remote location away from the air source. Great news, except the valve is neither described nor is it provided. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to make that feature work, but that was ok since I used the Mityvac where the air compressor was located.
Before my first use I bought a 25 foot coil of 1/4" plastic tubeing (which was intended for refrigerator ice maker hook up) at Home Depot as a previous reviewer suggested. The provided tubing is too short. I used about 12 foot of tubing. It worked beautifully, but you must insure that you have the tube all the way down to the bottom of the oil pan. I did not at first and did not fully evacuate the Santa Fe.
After evacuating the Santa Fe I turned to my Nissan Frontier and prepared to change its oil as well. That is when I ran into problems since I had not emptied the Mityvac before using it on the Frontier.
DO NOT COUNT ON THE OVERFLOW SHUTOFF TO WORK! I did and mine did not. Soon oil was all over the floor. Of course if a person is attentive and watches what is happening this would not happen. It remains to be seen if any injury occurred to the venture part when the oil got sucked down into it.
To clean the unit when I was done I used hot water with dish washing detergent. It worked well enough.
All in all I am pleased that I bought the Mityvac 7300. Except for the overflow protection failure, it worked quite well. I would not suggest changing oil wearing a tuxedo as some have implied could be done, however, unless you are into destroying tuxes. It simply is not THAT clean a procedure.

Liquivac Topside Oil Changer Review

Liquivac Topside Oil Changer

It's not perfect. It takes a little longer than pulling the drain plug, but reduces the likelihood of creating a mess by a considerable amount. It's as close to the perfect home oil change as I've experienced in 50+ years of working on cars. Easy to set up and clean. A big ziplock is handy for the hose, and a small one to avoid losing the gaskets, etc. Of course, you still have the filter to deal with.
