This set comes with the original older version vehicle of Bumblebee from the first Transformers movie, before he became the more giant plastic toy looking one later in that film. The older of the two Bumblebee cars is a lot harder to come across in the single packs than the newer version so this may well be the only way you can get it. It even has some rust like the one in the film although it does look more like a kid has had chocolate on their fingers and picked up the car than rust but still, it's nice it's there. There is also an Autobot logo on the bonnet. The other vehicle is of course the black and white police car Barricade. It's a pretty cool car and I haven't ever seen it in a single pack. Barricade has a bull bar and the Decepticon logo in front of the doors, he really looks quite good.
When I bought this the double packs were exactly the same price as two single packs in stores. They seem to be coming down in prices in stores but are still a lot more expensive than the usual Matchbox, Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning and other brand die-cast vehicles which is basically what these cars are, although less durable versions as these are made of plastic and those metal. These don't have a scale on the packaging or vehicles themselves but are slightly bigger than those 1/64 sized vehicles. The feature they have over your standard Matchbox type car is that on the undercarriage they have a picture of the movie version transformer in robot form (see my customer image).
I don't know if it's how the weight is distributed with having two vehicles on an approximate 45 degree angle but the double battle packs do stay upright in their packaging a lot better than the singles which fall over easily when bumped when displayed on a shelf. That's just a little thing but maybe something you want to consider if your a keep in packets kind of collector. And if you are the packaging is designed quite well with you being able to see each vehicle from underneath, the roof view, one side (the other is obstructed by the cardboard triangle) and front and back.
If you take them out you will immediately notice the plastic feel (and difference between your standard Matchbox and similar brands type car). Being made of plastic they are a lot less durable if you are actually going to make them fight like the package promotion text implies they won't last as long as your usual die-cast metal vehicle will.
I would love to see Hasbro (who make these) bring out the original 80s Japanamation cartoon version vehicles in a range like this (although preferably made of metal instead of plastic). Of course then Bumbleebee would be a VW beetle!
If you are not interested in the robot on the undercarriage, and prefer your movie die-cast vehicles to be made out of metal, Jada also brought out an unofficial 81 Camaro that looks like Bumblee in the film in 1:55 scale (pretty much the same size as these). It does come in a single blister pack and also a double pack with the newer Camaro as well.
