(More customer reviews)This is an excellent starting kit for someone wanting to do mechanical work but starting from nothing. SK tools are generally considered to be a couple of steps up in terms of quality from the Sears / Home Depot / Lowes box store brands, and light years ahead of the cheap Chinese specials. In many instances S-K tools compare very favorably to the top truck brands like Snap-On, Matco, Cornwell, or Mac Tools. For example I have sockets from ALL of these brands - and honestly - I prefer my S-K sockets overall. I can not say every SK tool I have picked up is my personal favorite when compared to every other brand - but - I CAN say that every S-K tool I have picked up compares quite favorably in terms of quality, construction, fit and finish to any other brand. These are tools meant to last a lifetime and provide service for years and years. If you are just starting out - this is a good place to begin.
